Appearance

General Appearance
The first thing that can be immediately noticed about Rinji is most likely her stature — a notably tall Elezen, wide shoulders and flat chest. She can, and has been mistaken as a man numerous times - wide frame, long ears and a bulky build all lend to the confusion. One can easily tell by simply looking at her that she is a seasoned soldier. A memorable trait about her is her freckles — dozens of them scattering her face in a chaotic pattern.

Armors
When on duty, Rinji often would wear different kinds of equipment, depending on her tasks. She prefers heavy armour. When she is representing the Alliance or Temple Knights, she will brightly represent the distinct azure colors, associated with the army. However, when she is on more personal tasks, one can often find her in simple yellow and black coated plate.

Casual Clothing
When she finds herself in a place where wearing armor is not suitable, or it's a place she feels safe in, she will replace the heavy armor with simple clothing of black, brown and yellow shades. Flowers are often seen on her, either as an accessory or as an embroidery, it is a symbol that she holds very dear. All of her clothes are made out of simple and durable fabrics, trying to stand out as little as possible. The woman rarely wears any notable jewellery, but the one notable piece of it are grey solid earrings, often hanging from her long ears.

Occupation

Fighter
Rinji is no stranger to war. She is both a Temple Knight and an Alliance soldier, whenever the latter requires her. She has served for nearly a decade, and while she still has a lot to learn, she does not pursue weapon mastery as her end goal, instead preferring to carry out her duty as she always has.

Weapon Proficiency
Rinji is a Knight sworn to Halone, who uses two blades (combined into a twinblade) to defeat her foes. The weapons' steel is aether-conductive and each blade is embedded with a crystal. Studies in the Scholasticate had allowed her to grasp magic, and her service in Ala Mhigo has put her close to Red Mages, who have taught her their art. She is still, however, a martial combatant first, infusing her blades with aether to deal devastating blows. Together with her war chocobo, she prefers to ride into battle and participate in the frontlines, however she is also trained as a scout, usually with her bow.

Notable Combat History
Rinji has participated in the Dragonsong War as a Temple Knight for 4 years before its end, after which she has been assigned various duties with a small squadron in the Black Shroud and La Noscea. During the war on two Garlean fronts, Rinji was a part of the Gyr Abanian front, and is currently still involved with providing Ala Mhigo humanitarian aid. She also volunteered to participate in the fight for Bozjan Southern Front and was drafted for the Ilsabard Contingent operation.All of these events may act as hooks for potential connections and story lines, other Ishgard- and Alliance-affiliated characters may recognize her if they wish.

Background

Noble Beginnings
No matter how much Rinji loathes this fact, she was born and raised as an Ishgardian noble. Her family, a smaller House of Teweronts, was backing the Ishgardian Orthodox Church, and therefore had just enough power and wealth to live happily, despite the circumstances of war. However, later in her life she has cut her ties to the rest of her family, and upon being disowned has found comfort by staying with the Minaires in the Brume. She has sworn to fight for them, the Brume and everyone that her family trampled over in order to live comfortably. An unfortunate consequence of this oath is that she rarely knows rest, as she feels guilty for the life she had before change.

Invisible Child
Even those among the Ishgardian nobility rarely remember Rinji being present. It is not surprising, as her existence was practically wiped off the written word, and instead she spent most of her life posing as her brother. Even the name Rinji wasn't her own until she started standing up to her family.

Scholasticate Almost-Alumni
Those who studied in the Scholasticate back before the Dragonsong ended might remember the face of a large blonde Elezen girl, who was way older than her peers when she was shoved into the institution. Argumentative and constantly picking fights, she was a sore in the teacher's eyes, especially once she started spending most of her time with her new Brume friends. Despite this, she has continued her studies, and almost graduated, until she has forsaken the place entirely in favor of training with the Temple Knights and pursuing her future there.This information may be used to create hooks and connections between characters, other Ishgard-based characters may recognize her if they think that they have the information necessary.
